Sunday night in Boston

A guy says hi to me in the bar, "who's that" asks Paul. "Don't you remember, you ate a burger on his bed in Dallas" I replied (almost with a straight face) and then it was downhill all the way.

Andrew Rosen fed all my frankensteins in a very short space of time - studio 60, heroes, presidential pardons, a couple of west wing quotes, a surrealist joke, iPhones, tennis, a bit more american politics, a chasen story, recommending scary drinks and hot sauces as well as reading out a "humorous" email from Bb re the patriot act. His parting comment "what have you done!!!" as he looks out of the bar window to see the rain bouncing off the pavement. Sing along - Everywhere we go, we always bring the weather with us...

Continuing the singing theme, Mary and I too scared to go into the restroom because of the woman singing at the top of her voice from in there, then trying to get in and out as quickly as possible before she emerged from the cubicle and spotted the fact that we were hysterical (or worse asked us to join in). Did the whole seafood dinner thing, then walking back from the restaurant a taxi comes speeding towards us as we are crossing the road, screeches to a halt and a man jumps out shouting "hey! hey!".......what the????.....then the really scary bit when we realise it is Mike "Country" Cuthriell in his "I've been vacationing in NY, don't you know" hawaiian-print shorts and flip flops...too traumatised to return to the bar for scary drinks with Andrew, retired to bed early trying to forget.

"chasibel" - chasen + decibel - the unit of measurement of the pitch of sound eg "during the second keynote, the speaker became so animated his voice reached 1 chasibel and only the dogs could hear..."

btw - there are a lot of small dogs staying in this hotel at the moment, not sure what that's all about...unless they have really all come to hear Michael speak??

glad to see things carrying on in their usual surridium* fashion. now, much as i'm loving reading this distractilog** i really must get on with some real work.

*surridium: surreal + presidium = the surreal turns that life takes when associating with presidium folks. as in, "they had been in boston for little over 24 hours, but 2 surridia (pl) had already occurred: not only had they covered louise's favourite topics of conversation in the space of 5 minutes, but they were stunned by the impromptu appearance of hawaiian-look mike"

**distractilog: distracting + blog. as in, "louise was having great fun regaling her colleagues in sunny sheffield with amusing anecdotes via the bb-blogston distractilog"

ha ha ha! don't forget your extra point for chasibel. pure genius.

concurmenting: concurrent + commenting = the strange disjointedness that happens when two people comment on a post at the same time. as in "liz was dismayed that she couldn't log out of the distractilog as a new comment had appeared while she was typing her last comment. dratted concurmenting, she thought to herself, while also wondering why she was writing in the third person..."

chihuatel - a hotel which caters to small dogs.

I tend to think chasibel should be two points. I second the distractilog comment though
